Q. I have Homeowner’s Insurance. Why do I need a Federal Home Assurance Protection Plan?

Your homeowner’s insurance is hazard insurance and covers items damaged in fires and other covered perils. A Federal Home Assurance Protection Plan covers labor and/or parts required to repair or replace your covered products after a covered failure or power surge incident. Q. What if I need service?

If a covered item breaks down, simply call 1-888-220-3969 to reach the Administrator’s customer support or request service online at “File A Claim” at the top of the site.

Q. Who handles the covered repairs?

The Contract Administrator for Federal Home Assurance Plans has a service network of over 75,000 authorized technicians across the country. Once the claim is approved and the $50 deductible is collected, you will be instructed on how to receive service. If your covered product qualifies for in-home service, an authorized technician will contact you to schedule an appointment.

Q. When does my coverage start?

Your Federal Home Assurance Protection Plan becomes active 30 days after the date of purchase. Once your contract becomes effective, you will be able to file a claim online at any time - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year or you may call the Administrator at 888-220-3969 from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Central Mon. to Fri. and from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, Central Sat. and Sun.

Please note, submitting a claim does not automatically mean that the claim will be covered. You must contact the Administrator first for claim approval.

Q. How do I file a claim?

Go to the “File A Claim” tab at the top of our site, submit the necessary information and follow the instructions to file a claim, or call the Administrator at 888-220-3969 from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Central Mon. to Fri. and from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, Central Sat. and Sun.

Q. How long does my contract last?

Your service contract is on a month to month basis. Your Federal Home Assurance Protection Plan coverage will remain in effect for as long as you continue to pay the monthly fee subject to product age limits.

Q. Can I cancel at anytime? Are there any cancellation fees?

You can cancel at any time by informing the Administrator, and there are no cancellation fees. See Terms and Conditions for refund information. Your Federal Home Assurance Protection Plan coverage will remain in effect for as long as you continue to pay the monthly fee, subject to product age limits.
